final reflection report

Kyle Sauer
Final Paper
August 14, 2009

Our world is changing every day. They are always coming out with new technology and new things on the internet. This course has really opened my mind to many new things on the internet that I never knew much about.
Blogging was something that was sort of familiar to me. I am hoping to continue using this with my class this year. It is a great way to keep the parent – school communication going. Parents can log on and see what their children are up to in class. They can also communicate with me if they need to.
Social bookmarking was very new to me. I had never actually heard of it. Social bookmarking is a great new way for teacher to share websites that they use with other teachers. I am very excited to introduce this to other staff members at my school. I will defiantly continue using my own.
Winkis was a new thing for me. I can see myself using this when doing a project with other group members. It would be great to be able to work on something all at the same time for home and not have to meet to complete a project.
Overall this class has really been an eye opener to all that is out there. I am very excited to use a lot of what I have learned this year at school.

Webliography

Webliography for Elementary Teachers
Created by Kyle Sauer
The internet has become a great resource for teachers and students. Many teachers are able to do almost everything on the computer. I do my report cards and grading all online. For students the internet is a way to do research and play games. The following sites are sites that I use in my classroom, with my students or that I use myself.

Spelling City
http://www.spellingcity.com/
This is a website that allows students to practice their spelling words. They are able to enter their words and then play games and do activities that help them to learn their words. Students are also able to go on and choose a list of words from the website and practice those. The students can click on the word and actually hear it as well.
Rating- A- Very easy to navigate and wonderful for students and parents. One down side students need to type in words from their spelling list and sometimes they have a hard time, may need parents help.
